Donald Urmston has been kayaking for more than 30 years. He enjoys all types of kayaking from quiet water to sea kayaking, and loves to share his passion for kayaking with newcomers to the sport. He is an ACA certified kayak guide and instructor. He has owned over 60 kayaks throughout the years and is constantly buying, selling, testing and researching kayaks. Donald gives presentations on how to get started kayaking to audiences all over the Hudson Valley and beyond. He has paddled the Hudson River from Albany to Manhattan twice, circumnavigated Manhattan, and section-paddled the Erie, Cayuga-Seneca, Oswego, and Champlain Canals. When he is not kayaking, he teaches business management as a full-time instructor at a local community college.
